Heartland Girls’ Ranch is licensed by the Department of Corrections, the Department of Health, and is a Title IV E funded program for females ages 12-21. We are not able to bill insurance for daily per diem rates.

All referrals must come from county social workers/probation officers and include; Delinquency, CHIPS, and Voluntary Placements. HGR also accepts county placement referrals of trafficked girls through our Hearts for Freedom Program.

HGR does accept residents who are known or suspected to be pregnant. HGR is unable to accept residents who are actively psychotic, actively suicidal, or who are a significant danger to themselves or others.

Admission to the Heartland Girls’ Ranch may be initiated by contacting the main office at 320-843-4815 or by emailing During the initial discussion of placement, a Case Manager will discuss with you the current needs and long- term goals  of placement and request background information, such as diagnostic assessments, reports from past placements, court documentation, etc. Once referral information is received, it will be screened by our Leadership Team for admission.  A pre-placement interview may also be scheduled.
