Heartland Girls’ Ranch is licensed by the Department of Corrections, the Department of Health, and is a Title IV E funded program for females ages 12-21. We are not able to bill insurance for daily per diem rates.

All referrals must come from county social workers/probation officers and include; Delinquency, CHIPS, and Voluntary Placements. HGR also accepts county placement referrals of trafficked girls through our Hearts for Freedom Program.

HGR does accept residents who are known or suspected to be pregnant. HGR is unable to accept residents who are actively psychotic, actively suicidal, or who are a significant danger to themselves or others.

Admission to the Heartland Girls’ Ranch may be initiated by contacting the main office, at 320-843-4815 and speaking with Barb or emailing During the initial discussion of placement, critical goals and current issues will be addressed along with long-term goals and an initial assessment of eligibility.

Once initial screening has been completed, further background information such as psychological evaluation, family history, and prior interventions will be requested. A pre-placement interview may also be scheduled.
