Interested in Interning at Heartland Girls' Ranch?
Who can intern at Heartland Girls’ Ranch?
HGR has worked with interns from a variety of majors including: social work, psychology, human services, criminal justice, peace studies, and more.
When can students complete internships?
Internships are available throughout the year. Our greatest need is in the summer.
What can interns do?
Most interns complete general staff training and then spend the majority of their hours providing direct supervision to girls at either our main program or our Hearts for Freedom program.
Interns meet weekly with a staff for mentoring, supervision, and additional training.
Interns may attend other appointments such as client staffings, court, horse activities, etc.
Interns may plan and lead recreational or educational activities.
Interns will complete at least one special project related to their interests, skills, and/or academic requirements of their internship.
