ADMISSION

Heartland Girls’ Ranch (HGR) is licensed by the Department of Corrections. HGR is a Title IV E funded program for females ages 12-21.

HGR accepts referrals from county social workers, probation officers, and/or tribal workers. Referrals typically include: Delinquency, CHIPS, Voluntary Placements, and Extended Juvenile Jurisdiction. 

HGR does accept residents who are known or suspected to be pregnant. HGR is unable to accept residents who are actively psychotic, actively suicidal, or who are a significant danger to themselves or others.

Admission to the Heartland Girls’ Ranch may be initiated by contacting our Chief Executive Officer, Jeannie Thompson at (320) 843-4815, faxed to Jeannie’s attention at (320) 843-5105 or by emailing a completed Referral Form to jeannie@heartlandgirlsranch.org

During the initial discussion of placement, our staff will discuss with you the current needs and long- term goals of placement and request background information, such as diagnostic assessments, reports from past placements, court documentation, etc. Once referral information is received, it will be screened by our Referral Team for admission.
